About Me

The pleasure of questioning

Gullan Greyl is a pseudonym. It is the name I give myself because I enjoy playing with virtual identities.

From an early age, whenever I faced difficulties of any kind, I felt an urge to ask why things were this way and not another. Those difficulties made me a questioner who, over time, developed a love of knowledge for its own sake.

I became self-taught, making my way through literature and exploring different subjects grounded in the four branches of knowledge that guide this project: Science, Philosophy, Spirituality and Art.

Knowledge as a means

In my view, the purpose of knowledge should be to encourage the Awakening of Consciousness. I understand this Awakened Consciousness as our natural gift, allowing us to perceive our Original Identity—a perception I associate with the culmination of human experience, known as the Enlightened State.

I see knowledge that does not encourage this awakening as culture: stored knowledge. In those circumstances, we can become walking encyclopaedias, with a merely horizontal and linear view.

Through Awakened Consciousness, we begin to take a panoramic view, moving both horizontally and vertically. For me, therefore, knowledge is a means, not an end in itself. Beyond a certain point, it becomes unnecessary.

It Is Not About Knowing More, but Seeing Better

It is in this spirit that I share my reading and care for this Livroteca.
