About the book

Created on Zeus’s orders as an instrument of revenge against Prometheus and the first humans, Pandora was meant to fulfil the role the gods assigned her: to seduce, disturb and condemn an emerging humanity. Yet the ‘demon made woman’ begins to change within and ultimately defies Olympus’s own designs.

Alongside Epimetheus, Pandora participates in forming the first human generations and discovers feelings unknown to her original nature: affection, protectiveness, hope and love for her own descendants. Pursued by the gods’ emissaries, she is forced to become fierce in defence of the human experience she helped create.

In this process, something previously rare among the lineages from which humans descended emerges: the smile — the expression of a consciousness beginning to find peace, develop individuality and free itself from its creators’ determinations.

Narrated by Pandora herself, this is the story of a figure condemned by mythology, but reclaimed as a mother, rebel and witness to a forgotten past. Breaking her silence, she opens her ‘box’ once more — not to release evils into the world, but to restore a lost part of humanity’s origins.
